The UG is a weekly show discussing the current hot topics in the world of mixed martial arts. Hosted by the owners of The Underground, Kirik Jenness and Chris Palmquist, who each add their unique perspective to the discussion as long time figures in the MMA space, along with Jeremy Brand, the founder of MMASucka.com and Sucka Radio.
Each week a guest joins the cast to add their take on current events in MMA and also speak a little about what’s going on with them at the moment.
Kirik Jenness is the founder and mayor of the UnderGround at MixedMartialArts.com. He serves as the official records keeper for mixed martial arts. Since its inception in 1993, he has done everything in the sport from writing to fighting, reffing to glove running, coaching to regulating, until the only job in the MMA space he has never done is ring card girl.
Chris Palmquist is the Chief Operating Officer of Mixed Martial Arts LLC, the parent company of MixedMartialArts.com and MMA.tv. He is also an avid jiu-jitsu and MMA student having studied in both for over sixteen years. Working full-time in the MMA space, Chris has worked as a referee in jiu-jitsu events, judge in MMA bouts, writer, graphic designer, coach, and even has a few professional bouts on his resume.
Vancouver’s Jeremy Brand has run leading Canadian MMA website MMASucka.com since he founded it in 2009, and is the long time host of the popular Sucka Radio, which does news and interviews with the biggest names in the sport. Trained traditional Karate as a child, but moved on to play competitive hockey for the rest of his childhood. From a very young age was very interested in martial arts, embarrassed to say mostly because of movies, such as 3 Ninjas and The Karate Kid.
